Event with Glen Scrivener:“Why Do We Care?”

How Jesus explains our belief in love, equality and compassion
  • Venue

We’re delighted that the author and speaker Glen Scrivener has agreed to come and speak at an event for us, exploring the key idea of his brilliant evangelistic book “The Air We Breathe: how we came to believe in freedom, kindness, equality and progress”. He’ll show how even those of us who’d say we’re “not believers” do actually believe in values like equality, love and compassion, and those things are not obvious or natural, we’ve learnt them from Jesus. To believe in human rights or caring for the weak is actually a huge leap of faith - but if the story of Jesus is true then we have solid ground to stand on that makes sense of those deep convictions.
Glen will give a talk and then take questions, with cheese and wine served afterwards. The event is free, and everyone - whatever beliefs or background - is very warmly welcome.
