Friday Impact is Eden’s youth group for young people in years 7-9. In the summer term we are pleased to welcome year 6 children about to move up to secondary school to join us. We meet 8-9.30pm on Fridays during school term, and we’re pleased to be back meeting in person at Eden (as of April 2021). We do lots of fun social activities and games, and we also spend some time each week looking at what God has to say to us through the Bible.
The group has a great mix of young people from Eden and others, such as their friends, who have been invited along. All young people of the right age are welcome, it doesn’t matter whether you’ve been at church all your life or never before. We’d love to get to know you and have fun together.
Regular activities include chill out nights (table tennis, snooker, wii, board/card games), crafts, baking, unihoc and other active games. Annual events include a trip to London in May, punting in July and a weekend away with GAP (the 14-18s group) in Norfolk in October. At the moment we’re not able to everything we normally do because of COVID, but we’re thinking creatively to still come up with fun activities.
As well as enjoying our activities, we enjoy learning from God’s Word together. This term (summer 2021) our younger groups are looking at the stories of some different people in Luke’s gospel and how they point us to Jesus, while our older groups are looking at some Big Bible Words and how they explain the Christian message.
Download a termcard for more details of the teaching and activities each week.
As we are still working under certain COVID restrictions, it would be helpful if you could get in touch with Ali in advance if you are planning on coming along for the first time one week.
Years 7-9 also meet on Sundays after Eden’s Sunday morning service goes out on YouTube (school term-time only). We meet on Zoom 11.30am-12.30pm, and we have a bit of social catch up time as well as a bit of time to think about the morning’s sermon and pray together.
If you would like to join us please get in touch with Ali for more information.
