Friday Impact

Friday Impact is Eden’s youth group for young people in years 7-9. In the summer term we are pleased to welcome year 6 children about to move up to secondary school to join us. We meet 8-9.30pm on Fridays during school term, usually in the back hall at Eden (entrance on Fair Street). We do lots of fun social activities and games, and we also spend some time each week looking at what God has to say to us through the Bible.

The group has a great mix of young people from Eden and others, such as their friends, who have been invited along. All young people of the right age are welcome, it doesn’t matter whether you’ve been at church all your life or never before. We’d love to get to know you and have fun together.

Regular activities include chill out nights (table tennis, snooker, wii, board/card games), crafts, unihoc and other active games. Annual events include a trip to London in May, punting in July and a weekend away with GAP (the 14-18s group) in Norfolk in October. Other activities we’ve done recently include a bake off challenge, human cluedo and a bonfire night party.

Impact 10

As well as enjoying fun activities, we enjoy learning from God’s Word together. This term (summer 2019) we are looking at signs pointing to Jesus in John’s gospel as well as thinking about some big questions.

Sunday Impact

Impact Eaton Vale

Years 7-9 also meet on Sundays during Eden’s Sunday morning service (school term-time only). We join with the rest of the church at 10am for the first half of the service and then gather in the church office during the break in the service. We always enjoy welcoming new people!

In the summer of 2019 we are spending time thinking about the different worldviews people have, how they compare to the Christian worldview, and how they impact on our culture around us.

Impact and GAP together

Sunday Impact also meets together with GAP (our 14-18s group) once a month on a Sunday evening after the evening service. We have dinner together and spend a bit of time thinking about the sermon we’ve just heard or another topic relevant to young people. See the termcard or the website calendar for dates for this term. The service begins at 6pm and we aim to be finished meeting by 8.45pm.

Check out our termcard for details of dates and the programme for this term.
